Brands used to hire creators primarily for attention. Increasingly, creators can help consumers discover a product, understand it, trust it and buy it without ever leaving the content environment. Once creators repeatedly generate transactions, it may no longer make sense to treat them purely as marketing. They are becoming part of distribution.

Have You Heard of ATHX? The Other Hybrid Fitness Format Worth Watching

HYROX may dominate the current conversation around hybrid fitness. But ATHX is increasingly worth watching. The format combines distinct tests of strength, endurance and conditioning across a longer competition structure that includes warm-up, strength, refuel, endurance, recovery and a final MetCon segment. ATHX is also expanding its footprint. Its announced 2027 calendar already spans 21 European cities, while the brand is beginning to lay foundations in China alongside Adidas through coaching certification and gym partnerships.

Why it matters: ATHX is still significantly smaller than HYROX. That is not what makes it interesting. Its existence starts answering a bigger question: Is hybrid fitness one event format, or is it becoming an entire participation-sports category? If HYROX effectively is hybrid fitness, one standardized format may dominate. If consumers increasingly identify more broadly as hybrid athletes, there may be room for multiple competition structures. Running gives us a useful analogy. 5Ks. 10Ks. Half marathons. Marathons. Trail races. Ultras. One runner can participate across many formats. Hybrid fitness could evolve similarly.

Erewhon Is More Than an Expensive Grocery Store

Erewhon has become one of the most culturally visible grocery businesses in the US despite operating a relatively concentrated physical network. Most of the attention goes to the obvious things. Expensive groceries. Celebrity smoothies. Wellness products. Fashion collaborations. And the Los Angeles crowd around it. But those are probably better understood as outputs of something more interesting happening underneath the business. Erewhon has turned grocery from a primarily functional purchase into something increasingly connected to identity, culture and aspiration.

Why it matters: Grocery traditionally competes around a fairly predictable set of variables: Price. Location. Assortment. Freshness. Availability. Convenience. Erewhon still needs to deliver those basics. But it has added another layer: cultural relevance. People do not only shop there. They photograph it. Post it. Talk about it. Wear the merchandise. Try celebrity collaborations. Visit while travelling. The store itself has become part of the consumer proposition.

HYROX’s Reported €600M Deal With L Catterton: What Happens Next?

HYROX has entered a new ownership chapter. Infront, which backed HYROX from 2019 and became majority shareholder in 2022, has sold its majority stake to a consortium led by consumer-focused investment firm L Catterton. The founders remain deeply involved in the new structure, while WndrCo is also participating. The reported valuation is around €600 million, although this has not been officially confirmed by the parties. The scale behind that valuation is increasingly difficult to ignore. HYROX went from roughly 80,000 participants in 2022–23 to more than 1.4 million participants across 100+ events in the 2025–26 season, according to transaction reporting.

Why it matters: This is not only another fitness acquisition. HYROX has increasingly turned participation itself into a consumer platform. The race is one product. But around it sits: training, affiliate gyms, apparel, footwear, sponsorship, travel, community, content, and potentially media. That makes HYROX economically more interesting than a conventional sporting event. The consumer does not simply buy a ticket. They may spend months preparing around the event.

Shopee’s New Seller Fees: Who Actually Pays in the End?

Shopee has updated its seller fee structure in Indonesia. For non-Star sellers uploading their first product from August 1, 2026 onward, administration fees now apply from the beginning rather than only after sellers pass earlier order or tenure thresholds. Depending on product category, Shopee’s administration fee can range from 2.5% to 10%. Shopee also charges a Rp1,250 order-processing fee per completed transaction, while additional programme fees can apply depending on seller participation.

Why it matters: Marketplace fees look like seller economics. Eventually they can become consumer economics too. A seller absorbing another few percentage points has several choices: accept lower margin, raise price, reduce discounts, spend less on advertising, change assortment, or move volume elsewhere. None is neutral.
